Located near the Rama IX expressway and the RCA, the project will cater to SMEs seeking an integrated supply chain solution.
Owners of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Thailand will soon find it easier to break into the market and start selling directly to end users with a new THB 3 billion integrated distribution centre.
ShowDC is an innovative project that offers an alternative to the traditional retail supply chain. The integrated business complex will allow SMEs to access business components that are usually closed to them, including wholesaling, a service and exhibition centre, warehouse, central kitchen and product delivery facility.
Somkit Tantadvanichkul, founder of ThinkWork, the consultant for the ShowDC project said, "We expect ShowDC will be a new contact point between local and regional entrepreneurs, who have been doing business along the total supply chain."
The development is a brainchild of AEC Property Development, a joint-venture between Thai and Malaysian developers. The company envisions its project as catering to local and foreign investors who want to expand here to cash in on the open market environment of the Asean Economic Community (AEC) in 2015.
ShowDC will serve entrepreneurs involved in diversified products from fashion apparel and accessories and home decoration to electric products, IT, computers and mobile products, furniture and consumer goods.
The distribution centre will be built on a 29-rai site on Jaturatid Road near the Rama IX expressway and RCA. It will take the form of a commercial complex with 156,000 sq m of gross floor space and 95,000 sq m of gross leasing space.
AEC expects to recover its investment on ShowDC in a relatively short six to seven years.
