Located in Jalan Pinang next to the Twin Towers and KLCC, Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur is catered to MICE travellers.
The launch of the first five-star Hyatt Hotel in Kuala Lumpur is imminent. The Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur is undergoing final checks and approvals and could open its doors as early as August.
General Manager Robert Dallimore said that the fit-out and dry-runs of the property are under final touches, with the developer awaiting the certification of completion and compliance. The hotel is currently taking bookings for stays beginning 1 September this year.
Located in Jalan Pinang next to the iconic Twin Towers and the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur is catered mainly to business travellers, in particular the meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions (MICE) crowd.
The property boasts over 3,300 sq m of meeting space, and even has a ballroom capable of admitting a car. "Because of our location (tourist zone) there will also be the leisure market," added Dallimore.
"Grand Hyatt is not a new brand in the hotel industry but it is a new brand in Kuala Lumpur. We cannot dare to assume that because we are have a reputation in other cities, it (success) will automatically happen. We have to be humble," Dallimore said.
The high-end hotel offers a total of 412 room in a variety of configurations. Rooms range in size from 340 sq m to 47 sq m. A booking for a Grand King room starts at RM 540 per night, and goes up to RM 720 per night with breakfast included. Guests will be able to choose from three restaurants housed within the hotel - JP Teres, Poolside and Thirty8.
Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur is owned by Bahagia Investment Corp (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd with a major shareholder in the form of Brunei Investment Agency.
